to do part-time agricultural labor for 4,823 man-days. Moreover, the COA signed the "Arrangement for Implementing the Indonesian Young Farmer Internship Program in Taiwan" with Indonesia, selecting 53 young Indonesian farmers to come to Taiwan for internships.
C. Deepening agricultural cooperative relations with NSP partner countries
In 2019 the COA continued to promote the action plan for the "Modern Agriculture Demo Farm in Karawang" within the framework of Taiwan-Indonesia agricultural cooperation. The two sides are cooperating in five major areas (irrigation, rice cultivation, the horticulture industry, duck farming, and farmers’ organizations). Meanwhile, the COA signed an implementing agreement with the Philippines for the "Taiwan-Philippines Button Mushroom Demonstration Farm" in Baguio, the Philippines, for which things like mushroom growing technology, equipment, and materials were imported from Taiwan. In addition, we accepted
an invitation from the Philippines Department of Agriculture to hold a harvest activity at the Baguio demonstration farm to display the results of agricultural cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, we cooperated with Vietnam to plan the establishment of agricultural demonstration zones, signing the "Agreement to Cooperate on a Demonstration Center on Rice Seed and Fruit Tree Seedling Production," setting up a rice seed and fruit seedling center in Vietnam’s Long An Province and undertaking training of personnel as well as purification and cultivation tasks.
D. Serving Taiwanese and overseas Chinese businesses
The COA set up an Agricultural New Southbound Policy one-stop services window, which in 2019 provided services in 62 cases. It offered Taiwanese, foreign, and overseas Chinese businesses consultation services and provided data on subjects like capital requirements, investment, technical support, and trade.
