4. Pueraria lobata (Kudzu, Ge Geng)

Kudzu is one of the earliest medicinal plants that has been used in TCM thousands of years ago. The roots of kudzu have been used as anti-diarrhetic, antipyretic, diaphoretic, and anti-emetic agents and to treat alcohol-related problems (intoxication and alcohol-abuse). Currently, kudzu is marketed as a rich source of isoflavones, as an herb for women’s health and as an anti-alcohol abuse plant material.
