Realizing the importance of agricultural statistics in the understanding ofrural conditions and problems and ih formulating agricultural policies andprograms, concerned government agencies in Taiwan has well kept agricultural statistics that can readily be traced back to the beginning of this century.The rapid expansion of Taiwan\'s agriculture in recent decades has been duepartly to the continuous compilation and analysis of historical and current agricultural statistics.
