Organic for Two Generations

Minfeng Organic Rice Farm

Its sterling reputation as the county’s first organic farm has made Minfeng a respected leader in the region’s organic farming movement. As organic has since gone mainstream, and upmarket interest has shifted to premium and new rice varieties and value-added products, Minfeng has successfully adapted and thrived.

The owner’s son brought the Minfeng brand into the 21st century and made the family operation accessible to the public via an allnew organic rice experience center set right next to Minfeng’s paddy rice fields. Minfeng is the perfect destination to learn all about rice farming, organic farming methods, and Yilan agriculture as well as to join in on a variety of fun DIY experience activities. If you visit between February and April, try your hand at planting rice seedlings and snail-catching in the paddy fields. Come in June and July to join in on summer harvest activities.

Can't make it during these months? No worries! Minfeng offers other activities during the farming off-season, including ecological tours of the area, ‘paddy walk’experiences, and rice cuisine DIY projects. Of course, every visit to Minfeng Organic Rice Farm ends with a delicious taste of the farm's produce, including white, semipolished, brown, and‘3-treasures’rice as well as rice crackers, brown rice flour, and 3-treasures genmaicha tea. Let the friendly family that owns and operates Minfeng Organic Rice Farm show you what makes their farm special and how they are doing their part to keep Taiwan enjoying food that is both delicious and healthful.
